James Dean Laderoute was
born on June, 2, 2000 in Montreal,
Canada.
It is just a coincidence that James Dean
Laderoute shares a name with a movie
star who had an obsession with car
racing, but it is fitting nonetheless.
James Dean started go-Karting at the
tender age of eight after he made it
clear to his dad, Dean, that sailing was
not in his interest. "I hoped he would
like sailing like me, but he hated
getting hit in the head with the boom,"
said Dean.
"We were looking for a summer camp and we ran out of all the
options so we saw an ad for a go-Karting summer camp at
Kart-O-Mania. We sent both him and his sister to the
summer camp and they liked it so much, they stayed another
week." While there, James Dean impressed the instructors
with his aggressive driving and quick grasp of the racing
line. They suggested to his father to enroll him in a
outdoor go-Karting program. He was brought to SH Karting
for their one day driving class which was given by Devin
Cunningham. The facility is in St-Hilaire just west of
Montreal. He showed he was a natural on the track there as
well. He started racing in 2009 with the help of his coach,
Chris Green. Chris decided to use 2009 season to focus on
racing fundamentals and driver development, in preparation
for 2010. James Dean learned quickly, he became the 2009
BSRKC Grand National Champion.
James Dean was introduced to
Thought Technology and began using biofeedback as
part of his training during the winter months in preparation
for the upcoming 2010 season. The 2010 season was
exceptional to say the least. Of the 15 races James Dean
competed in, he was on the podium every single time and
winning 12 of them. In the process he set fastest
lap records at 5 different tracks. He became the 2010
ASN-FIA Canadian National Champion, Vega Cup Champion, Coupe
De Montreal Champion and the ECKC Vice-Champion. James Dean
says he has what it takes to be a World class driver and
hopes to one day race in F1 or Indy. His goals are to
first race in the GP3 or GP2 series, then sign with a F1 or
Indy team.
He has chosen to do charity work with the Make-A-Wish because he says "all my wishes came
true".
